How RMHC Bay Area Helps Families

A history and political science graduate of Saint Anselm College, Peter O’Sullivan has worked at leading technology companies based in Silicon Valley, San Francisco including as a category lead of technology at Facebook. Peter O’Sullivan enjoys giving back to society by helping charitable institutions such as the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in the San Francisco area.

The RMHC Bay Area is a family-centered organization that has helped critically ill children for over 40 years. It works with children’s health care providers located in the region, such as the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, and supports families financially and psychologically by providing psychosocial aid, meals, and housing.

RMHC program in San Francisco, for instance, offers families an 11-bedroom house inside UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, where they can rest and recharge. On the other hand, Oakland-based families also have access to the Happy Wheels program, where volunteers help patients leave their beds to get to know the hospital. Families accompanying children receiving care at RMHC Bay Area partner hospitals are welcomed to use any of the institution’s charitable services and amenities, including private showers and restrooms, play areas, hot and nutritious meals, and laundry facilities.
